Christmas eve boxes don't need to be expensive! Why not try making our recycled Santa Sleigh to hold a mug and hot chocolate goodies?
You will need
An old milk bottle, cleaned (We have used a 2 litre one)
Scissors (Use with adult supervision)
Paints (We used acrylic which worked well)
Paintbrushes
Biro pen
Bottle tops and glue for decorations (Optional)
Draw
To begin with, you will need to draw the below template onto your bottle. Please see the images below for a guide. We recommend using a Biro pen to draw the guide.
Cut
Under adult supervision, carefully cut out the lines to make the shape of your sleigh.
Paint & Details
Paint your sleigh using any colours you like. We have gone with a festive red and Green sleigh. You could create yours using a different colour scheme instead.
We have used 2 coats of acrylic paint. We recommend painting 1 layer, leaving it to dry, then painting the other layer.
Once your 2 coats of paint are dry, add in festive details. We have used bottle tops and painted milk bottle offcuts to create Holly. You could try and make a snowman, presents or even reindeer to go with your sleigh.
Happy Christmas!
Your sleigh is now ready to fill with festive goodies! We have filled ours with hot chocolate treats ready for a Christmas movie night.
You could also use your sleigh to store napkins, snacks or mini gifts. The possibilities are endless!
